Phanus vitreus

Fairly common up to 1350 m. Usually found inside humid forest; attracted to bait and spitwads.

Similar species: Very similar to P. ecitonorum, and some individuals appear intermediate. P. vitreus has a small additional submarginal hyaline spot in space 1 HW which is lacking in ecitonorum. Other Phanus have the row of submarginal hyaline spots DHW more irregular.

Similar species: Males of other Phanus I've recorded in Cusco have a conspicuous costal fold. HW submarginal hyaline spots more irregular than P. vitreus and P. ecitonorum, with a large additional spot in space 1. See P. obscurior prestoni.

Similar species: Most similar to P. grandis but male has a costal fold, and submarginal hyaline spots HW are smaller, especially in space 1. Other Phanus have larger, more regular hyaline submarginal spots HW.
