Fairly common(?) at 1050 m., possibly lower. Usually found in forest; attracted to bait and spitwads.

Similar species: FW apical spots are in spaces 6, 7, 8, and 9; compare with other Zenis, none of which shows the paired elongated FW spots in spaces 4 and 6.
