Archaeoprepona chromus chromus

Fairly common 1000-2100 m., mostly above 1350 m. Puddles; attracted to bait.

Similar species: Distinctive; V wing bases much darker than A. amphimachus amphimachus or A. menander among other differences. Found at higher elevations than others.

Archaeoprepona meander

Uncommon up to 1050 m. Puddles, and attracted to bait. I'm not sure which subspecies occur(s) in Cusco.

Similar species: More strongly bicoloured on V than other Archaeoprepona; P. dexamenus dexamenus is superficially similar but lacks the paler V margin shown by A. meander, among other differences.
