Common (very locally/seasonally?) at 1600 m., perhaps only found in drier valleys. Can be found lage concentrations in humid gullies during the dry season.

Uncommon 1050-1350 m. Usually found inside forest; attracted to bait. I think the subspecies I've encountered in Cusco is undescribed. Variable.
