Rhetus periander

Uncommon up to 1050 m.; probably more common in lowlands. Attracted to bait and mud. I'm not sure which subspecies occur(s) in Cusco; the female shown may represent a different subspecies.

Similar species: The best mark on both sexes is red line VFW costa extending to the white discal band; this line is much shorter on R. dysonii. On males, note that the blue in the DFW cell does not continue beyond end of cell, unlike R. dysonii.
