Uncommon up to 1050 m., up to 1500 m. in drier valleys; probably common in lowlands. Attracted to bait; occasionally puddles.

Similar species: C. buphonia is superficially similar but has a black head and thorax, among other differences.

Similar species: Note silvery ground colour, sharply pointed red-filled 'V' near bottom of post-discal line, and two large subtornal 'eyespots.'

Uncommon up to 550 m., probably higher. Attracted to bait.

Similar species: Female is similar to C. cicero (higher elevations; I have no Cusco records) but the cell-end bar VHW is virtually connected to the post-discal line; in cicero the cell-end bar is completely disconnected from the post-discal line.
